Artemisia Annua has also been linked with treating cancer. Researchers have found that the compound called artemisinin interacts with iron to form free radicals in the body, which are compounds that kill cells. Cancerous cells absorb a lot of iron, which makes them more susceptible to damage from these free radicals. It inhibits cell growth in many tumour cells and causes programmed cell death.

The plant should be harvested at the beginning of flowering time. At that time the artemisinin content is the highest, and thus we also adapt similar guidelines for picking the plant by hand and then going through a manual drying process to derive tea and powder formulas. You can observe the powerful aroma with a slight herbal scent that is almost similar to a mint/ peppermint freshness but has a distinct strong and intense smell and soothing fragrance.
